Xcalia delivers Data Integration Software for SOA compliant data architecture data access software

Xcalia Data Access Service (XDAS™)

Starting with XIC 5.1, Xcalia Intermediation Core exposes its business view of Enterprise Data through a generic Web Service CRUD interface: Xcalia Data Access Service (XDAS).

Thanks to XDAS, DataGraphs (see the SDO standard) can be retrieved and updated by any application, written in whatever programming language, able to collaborate with a standard Web Service.

Web Service consumer applications can be designed and deployed as completely Data Source agnostic while they benefit from the high level of added value provided by XIC regarding data access and data integration enterprise requirements (transaction management towards multiple data sources, configurable multi-level cache, connectivity to any type of data source, etc...)

Xcalia DAS Data Access Service

Composite applications written, for example, for Java or .Net, can now be developed only by manipulating high level business objects, while these objects remains firmly but loosely coupled with enterprise-wide data sources combined all together through a metadata driven repository. Real-time enterprise data access and integration (including transaction management at the business object level) are made available to any development language compliant with standard Web Services (SOAP) thanks to Xcalia DAS.

With Xcalia DAS, acting as a generic Web Service for data access, Workflow Engines find an excellent data integration provider to fully interact (create, retrieve, update, delete - CRUD operations) with any enterprise data in a loosely coupled manner.

The exceptional scalability of XIC allows to deploy brand new composite applications from the prototype stage to production in a matter of hours.

Progressive deployment of new composite applications in a way compliant with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) principles is now possible thanks to the tight link established, described and coordinated by XIC with existing backend systems, without impacting them.

Xcalia DAS typical use case: a 4 steps process

  • The DAS is connected to the various data sources, defines the mapping between these data sources and a logical business model, and publishes that logical business model through a generic Web Service.
  • The client application, requests a datagraph from the DAS using a simple and standardized universal query language and the logical business model published by the DAS. The data is retrieved as an XML datagrah as standardized by SDO 2.
  • The client application remotely works on this SDO datagraph with convenient SDO APIs implemented by XIC in both Java and .Net.
  • Upon completion of the business transaction, the client application sends the SDO datagraph back to the XIC DAS server. The DAS will synchronize the relevant data sources in an optimistic transaction.
Xcalia is a major SOA vendor addressing enterprise IT and business requirements regarding business oriented enterprise data access, Xcalia DAS publishes and manages CRUD operations on data graphs towards any datasource type DAS implementation towards any datasource type modeling business objects interaction with enterprise data: data integration renewed, SDO commercial implementation datagraph and mediator, SDO client for MS .Net: integrate enterprise data with .net, JDO implementation for data access and integration with transaction management, EJB 3.0 for composite applications, BPEL applications get a universal data access layer through SOAP and DAS, SDO API to access mainframes, RDBMS, OODBMS, XML, SOAP, SAP delivers a transparent persistence layer, graphical object to services mapping software enabling business users, os/390, gcos, Unisys, openvms, pacbase, mq, tuxedo, ims, db2 systems and mainframes applications are mapped into services and thus integrated in the SOA
