Xcalia delivers Data Integration Software for SOA compliant data architecture data access software

From LiDO by LIBeLIS to Xcalia Intermediation™

Between 2002 and 2004, LIBeLIS marketed LiDO, a very popular JDO implementation. LiDO XD was a robust and complete object-relational mapping (ORM) solution for Java applications.

However, since the inception of the company, we promoted a vision of a more global and comprehensive solution for data access and data integration:

  • Not limited to the Java / J2EE platform,
  • Not limited to RDBMS.

LiDO was just the first step towards that vision.

In the meantime, the emergence of service-oriented architectures has raised new requirements from customers.

In 2004, LIBeLIS changed its name into Xcalia (which better reflects what we do now), and introduced Xcalia Intermediation, a much more comprehensive solution:

  • Global persistence solution in connected architectures (Java EE, POJOs, etc.)
  • Data Access in SOA:
    • SDO client APIs,
    • Data Access Service, publishing and manipulating aggregated data through Web Services,
    • Support for .Net and Java client applications.
  • Support for multiple data sources:
    • RDBMS, XML, ODBMS,
    • Web Services, mainframe transactions, packaged applications considered as Data Services.

Former users of LiDO can now download XIC 5.x, where they will still find the robust persistence layer they are looking for.

XIC 5.x is still free for non commercial use with open source relational databases (2 concurrent sessions).

XIC will be the perfect platform for them, should they also be willing to experiment with Data Access Services, SOA, SDO, in either Java and/or .Net.

Note: LiDO support has ended since June 30th 2006th.
