Xcalia® Receives Gazelle Award From French Ministry of Commerce

Identified as a Fast Growing Company with Opportunity for Rapid Global Expansion

PARIS, FRANCE AND SAN JOSE, CA — May 30, 2006 — Xcalia, a leading provider of dynamic integration software, announced today it has received the 2005 Gazelle Award, in recognition of fast growing companies with potential for rapid expansion, from the Ministry of Commerce. This first time award was created to identify French companies across all businesses that demonstrated two consecutive years of growth over 34 percent. Other qualification factors were companies that had between 5 and 250 employees and revenues less than €50M Euro.

The Gazelle program was designed to help these emerging small to medium size companies to sustain continued growth. According to the charter outlined by Renaud Dutreil, Minister of Commerce and Small and Medium Size Enterprises, financing young, innovative companies with high growth potential is essential to help drive employment in a dynamic economy.

Among other programs, the Ministry of Commerce wants to increase the export market and plan to build over 1000 groups in the next few years to help small and medium businesses export products and services. The plan also includes initiatives to help expand the availability of investment capital, particularly early stage “angel” rounds. The goal is to double the amount of investment at this stage by 2009.
