Technical Software Engineer

Xcalia is looking for 2 to 3 expert software engineers in order to strengthen a skilled R&D team focused on Data and Service Intermediation (O/R mapping, service mapping, …).  Primarily Java focused, .NET Framework knowledge is a plus.

Experience with some or all of the following technologies will distinguish you as a candidate:

• Web services (SOAP, Apache Axis ...)

Quality Assurance Manager

Mission: Under the control of the CTO you will guarantee the quality of software delivered by Xcalia.

This implies defining and refining quality assurance processes and documents, review the R&D activities (source code, test, planning reviews, etc.) and selecting, installing, and configuring the various tools needed for quality assurance. You will organize the test and validation strategies (unit tests, acceptance tests, non-regression tests, performance tests, robustness and stability tests, conformance of examples and documentation, etc.). You will at the end, certify new releases prior to publication and distribution.

You will also define and manage the R&D planning in collaboration with the R&D manager.

Finally, you will also participate to the product marketing meetings with the R&D manager and the product marketing.

It is part of your job to define QA indicators and publish them regularly.

Required Skills:

• Global software culture
• Mastering of J2EE development and deployment
• J2EE app servers and related middlewares (MOM, SOAP, etc.)
• Databases and transactions
• O/R mapping (JDO2 and/or EJB3 and/or SDO and/or Hibernate and/or Toplink)
• Tuning and optimizations of multi-tiered Java applications
• Strong experience with QA standards, techniques and tools
• Build tools: Ant, CruiseControl, Checkstyle
• Test tools: Junit, DBUnit, JMeter
• Configuration management : Perforce, BeyondCompare or any CVS-like
• Profiling: YourKit or equivalent
